Turn Stored Recordings into Searchable Notes

Recorded calls, lectures, and voice memos pile up in Drive. SubGrab reads the file straight from the share link and gives you the full transcript — set the file back to private when you’re done.

How to Get a Google Drive Transcript

1

Share the Drive file

Set the file to “Anyone with the link” and copy it (drive.google.com/file/d/ID/view). Private files can’t be read.

2

AI transcribes the audio

A raw file has no captions, so SubGrab pulls the audio straight from Drive and transcribes it — no download, no re-upload.

3

Download the text

Get TXT, SRT, or VTT, or an AI summary. Switch the file back to private afterward if you like.

What people use Google Drive transcripts for

Meeting & call recordings

Recorded Zoom calls saved to Drive become searchable notes — paste the link, get the transcript, skip the rewatch.

Lectures & training

Schools and companies store lecture and training video in Drive. Transcribe for study notes or accessibility.

Voice memos & field audio

A teammate drops a recording in a shared folder; turn it into text without ever downloading the file.

What won't work on Google Drive

  • Files that aren't shared publicly. Set sharing to “Anyone with the link” and it will work — this is the single most common Drive failure and it is a one-click fix.
  • Files that have hit Google's per-file viewing limit for signed-out visitors. That resets on its own; uploading the file here is the faster route.
  • Links to something that isn't a video or audio file.

Check before you spend a credit: Open the link in a private/incognito window. If Google asks you to sign in, the file isn't public yet — change sharing to “Anyone with the link”.

If a transcript does fail, the credit goes back automatically — every failed transcript is refunded.
