About SubGrab
SubGrab turns a video link into a transcript. Paste a link from any of 30 supported platforms and it reads the captions the platform already publishes; when a video has none, it transcribes the audio with AI. Every transcript downloads as TXT, SRT or VTT.
How it works

Captions first
When the platform publishes captions, SubGrab extracts them. That costs 1 credit, and the credit comes back if the video turns out to have none.

AI when there are none
Otherwise SubGrab transcribes the audio with OpenAI's Whisper, run on Groq. It costs 1 credit per hour of video, shown before you confirm, for videos up to 10 hours.
- 3
Failures cost nothing
If a transcription fails, its credits are returned automatically.
Who runs SubGrab
SubGrab is operated by Oceanx Consulting Pty Ltd (ABN 67 615 055 368), a company incorporated in New South Wales, Australia. The service runs on servers in the United States.
SubGrab is independent and is not affiliated with any of the platforms it supports.
Your data
- Essential cookies only — no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
- Audio downloaded for a transcription is deleted when the job ends. We do not keep audio or uploaded files.
- You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from your dashboard.
